Wesley Heights Residence
Located in the Wesley Heights neighborhood, this new construction residence was designed as a quiet architectural backdrop for a life rich in travel, art, and collected objects. While the exterior presents as clean, restrained, and intentionally minimal, the interior unfolds as a vibrant and expressive environment shaped by decades of the clients’ experiences around the world.
The clients’ aesthetic leaned decidedly modern, yet deeply personal. Rather than allowing the architecture to compete with their extensive collection of art and antiques, the design approach focused on simplicity and clarity. The home was conceived almost as a private museum—defined by calm proportions, white surfaces, and carefully controlled light—allowing color, texture, and story to emerge from within.
Open, light-filled interiors were designed to create moments of contrast and surprise, with neutral architectural elements giving way to bold artwork and curated pieces. Circulation and sightlines were carefully considered so that art is revealed gradually, reinforcing a sense of discovery throughout the home.
The result is a residence that is both restrained and expressive: a modern architectural framework that quietly supports, rather than overshadows, the narrative of the clients’ lives—allowing the home itself to become a gallery for memory, culture, and personal history.
