Chevy Chase Residence

This Chevy Chase Craftsman home underwent a renovation focused on improving flow, updating finishes, and better supporting the evolving needs of a growing family. With children in high school occupying much of the home, the clients sought spaces that could function more intentionally—both for everyday family life and for moments of retreat.

A side and rear addition allowed for the reorganization of the main living spaces, creating a new, light-filled kitchen that anchors the home and improves circulation throughout. Just as importantly, the addition introduced a dedicated adults-only reading den—an intentional counterpoint to the energy of a busy household.

Drenched in rich blue tones, the den was designed as a quiet refuge: a place for the clients to relax, read, and reconnect as a couple. Tucked away from the primary family zones, it offers a sense of calm and separation while remaining fully integrated into the home.

The renovation balances updated design with the warmth and character of the original Craftsman, resulting in a home that feels refreshed, functional, and deeply responsive to the lives of the family who inhabit it.
