Dupont Residence

This Dupont Circle rowhome renovation began with a structure that had been neglected for decades. Purchased in a severely deteriorated condition, the home required a full gut renovation to restore both its character and functionality.

The design approach reimagined the residence through a French modern lens—balancing intricate, historically inspired trim work with clean, contemporary lines. Interior spaces were opened to create clear front-to-back sightlines and allow natural light to move freely through the home, transforming what was once a dark and fragmented layout into a bright, cohesive living environment.

Throughout the renovation, old-world craftsmanship was thoughtfully reinterpreted for modern living. Custom millwork, concealed paneled doors, and chevron-patterned wood floors introduce layers of detail and surprise, while modern systems and finishes bring the home fully into the present.

The result is a revived rowhome that honors its architectural roots while embracing a refined, modern sensibility—bringing new life to a once-derelict property and restoring its place within the fabric of the neighborhood.
